Players Criticize Short Major Season
Golf's major tournaments are currently too compressed, according to several high-profile players. Jon Rahm, a two-time winner on the biggest stages, expressed interest in extending the major schedule to include events outside the United States.
Rahm proposed an extended major season that would benefit golf as a global sport. He believes it would be good for golf if more majors took place elsewhere.
Scottie Scheffler, currently ranked world No 1, agreed with McIlroy's perspective on the rapid pace of the golf season but emphasized that he has no influence over tournament scheduling: 'The season for us is getting quicker and quicker. The season is getting more condensed and things are happening a lot faster.'
Despite these challenges, Scheffler recognized the importance of maintaining a focus on performance in upcoming tournaments to sustain his achievements throughout the year.
