Here's a step-by-step guide to set up your WiFi extender:
1. Unbox and Place the Extender: Unbox the WiFi extender and find an optimal location for it. The extender should be placed within the range of your existing WiFi router but not too far away. Plug the extender into a power outlet and turn it on.
2. Connect to Extender's Network: On your computer or mobile device, go to the list of available WiFi networks and find the one that ends with "_EXT" (this is the default name for most WiFi extenders). Connect to this network.
3. Access the Setup Page: Once connected to the extender's network, open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, or Edge). The browser will automatically take you to the extender's setup page. If it doesn't, enter mywifiext net or 192.168.1.250 in the browser's address bar.
4. Login: On the setup page, you'll be prompted to log in. Use the default username "admin" and the default password "admin" (unless you have changed them before). If these credentials don't work, check the extender's manual or packaging for the correct login details.
5. Connect to Your Main WiFi Network: The setup wizard will detect nearby WiFi networks, including your main router's network. Select your main WiFi network from the list and enter the password for it. This will allow the extender to connect to your existing WiFi network.
6. Set Up Extended Network (Optional): During the setup process, you might have the option to set up a new WiFi network name (SSID) and password for the extended network. This is the network you'll connect your devices to when using the extender. If you prefer, you can use the same network name and password as your main WiFi network.
7. Complete Setup: Save the settings and wait for the extender to apply the changes. The extender will reboot, and your new extended WiFi network should now be active.
8. Connect Devices: Now, you can connect your devices (laptops, phones, etc.) to the newly created extended network using the SSID and password you set up earlier.
