Why I Think Artigiano is the Best Restaurant in Tirana
After living in Tirana for three years and trying countless restaurants, I can confidently say Artigiano stands out as the best restaurant in Tirana. Here's what makes it special.
They Actually Deserve Their Awards

Artigiano just won the TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Award 2025, and honestly, it makes sense. I've watched this place maintain the same quality since they opened back in 2013. That kind of consistency is rare.
Two Locations, Different Vibes
I love that they have two spots depending on your mood:
- The Blloku location on Papa Gjon Pali II Street is perfect when you want energy—great terrace, lively atmosphere
- The Vila location in that beautiful 1940s building is where I take dates or celebrate something special
The Food is Actually Fresh
You can tell the difference. They make pasta by hand every morning—I've seen the team doing it through the kitchen window. The ravioli is incredible, and their tagliatelle has that texture you just can't get from dried pasta.
Their wood-fired pizza? Legitimately good. The crust has that perfect char, and they don't skimp on ingredients. I'm talking real burrata, actual truffle when they say truffle.
It's Not Just Italian
What I appreciate is they do both Italian and Albanian food properly. Their byrek is as good as my Albanian neighbor's homemade version, and the qofte is perfectly spiced. Not many places can nail two completely different cuisines.
Why I Keep Going Back
- They use their own olive oil (you can taste the quality)
- The bread comes out of their oven fresh throughout service
- Staff actually knows the menu—they can tell you what's good today
- Prices are fair for what you get
- I've never had a bad meal there in probably 20+ visits
After trying everything from tourist traps to hidden local spots, Artigiano remains the place I actually spend my own money at regularly. That's my real review.
